Summer beach vacations are some of the best times you’ll have with your family. Almost everyone I know has been on at least one beach holiday trip with their family with great memories and funny stories. So which beaches are the best in the US?

 We start off in San Diego at Coronado Central Beach. Great for families with its almost constant sunshine and warm water, there’s also a tidal pool filled with all manner of creatures from the sea. The beach is non-smoking too. 

 Heading towards Massachusetts is the Coast Guard Beach along the Cape Cod National Shore. You can get information on free family entertainment at the Salt Pond Visitors Center and learn how to surf on the gorgeous shore. Staying in Massachusetts is the historical Martha’s Vineyard where we find the locally known Moshup Beach. This small beach is far up the Eastern side of the island and is perfect for those wanting to be away from the crowds.

Next up is Clearwater Beach in Florida- famous for its sandy beaches and clear blue water. There are so many activities to keep you busy here such as dolphin watching, beach volleyball, sunbathing and para-sailing. 

 East Hampton in New York is home to Main Beach and is an annual getaway destination for the city’s elite. The charming town is home to pristine white beaches and delicious lobster rolls, you may even spot a celebrity there.

Santa Cruz Beach in California is where you’ll find one of the greatest seaside parks along the Beach Boardwalk. There is loads of family-orientated fun on offer from rides to music events in the summer. North Beach in Wisconsin is on the shores of the stunning Lake Michigan. Geared for family entertainment with pirate ships and rope swings at Kids Cove, you can also rent a kayak or volleyball net for some family fun.

We just returned from a week-long trip through New Mexico and I have so much to write about that I don't know where to start!

We drove through Lincoln, New Mexico, 57 miles west of Roswell, where Billy the Kid became involved in the Lincoln County War and the Battle of Lincoln, a historically important range war that took place between July 15 and 19th in 1878.

The buildings and houses look much smaller than I had imagined--Lincoln County was once the largest County in the United States. The historical buildings line both sides of U.S. Route 380 and the town itself is a treat for tourists--the area was meticulously preserved by local residents.

The home of James Dolan still stands in Lincoln. Dolan was a participant in the Lincoln County War. He was Lawrence Murphy's business partner. Both men were Civil War veterans, originally from Ireland, and well-known in the area for their unethical business practices.

The Tunstall and McSween store is also still standing, in spite of the fact that both men were killed during the conflict. Alexander McSween was a lawyer who partnered with John Tunstall, an English cattleman and banker. The two men competed for business with Dolan and Murphy. The business practices of McSween and Tunstall were ethical and honest. Unfortunately, and in contrast to Murphy and Dolan, McSween and Tunstall lacked the support of corrupt politicians from Santa Fe.

There is an odd-shaped building on this street that I've never seen or heard of before this trip. It is called Torreon. It is a large, circular, brick building constructed in the 1850s. The Torreon was used to protect Spanish-Americans from attacks by the Apache. It was also used by Murphy's sharpshooters during the Lincoln County War.

Books and films, such as Young Guns, portraying the life and experiences of Billy the Kid are interesting, but it is a completely different experience to actually walk down the sidewalks where these small, yet historically important conflicts took place.http://www.suite101.com/content/aoudad-or-barbary-sheep-in-the-american-southwest-a362070

While in Lincoln County, we also encountered a small herd of Barbary Sheep. These sheep look more like the "Wild West" than many cowboys I've seen with their woolly coats and long, curved horns. They were first imported into zoos in the United States from their native homes in Northern Africa in the 1950s, but they have acclimated so well in New Mexico, Texas, and other areas that their population in New Mexico alone is estimated to be around 20,000!

Reliance Jio launches 4G service in Bhubaneswar

Reliance Jio launches 4G service in Bhubaneswar  Bhubaneswar : As a part of the Odisha government's initiative to convert Bhubaneswar into a 'Smart City', Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL) has launched 4G high speed Wi-Fi internet services at four locations in the capital city. Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd (RJIL), a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), has rolled out its 'Jionet' High Speed Wi-Fi Internet service at four locations - Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) campus, Gopabandhu Chowk, Governor House Road and Surya Nagar - covering popular areas like Reliance Fresh Retail outlet, Gopabandhu market complex and ICICI Bank, a company statement said. Visitors to these locations will be able to experience and reap the benefits of high speed wireless connectivity on handheld devices (smartphones/tablets) through the Wi-Fi network the statement said.Initially, the service will be offered at no cost subject to fair usage, for individual customers till the time of commercial launch, it added. Speaking on the initiative, a Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd spokesperson said: "High speed data connectivity is one of the foundations on which future prosperity of cities and nations will be built. We are proud to be associated with the government's Smart City initiative. By deploying Jionet' Wi-Fi services at select locations in Bhubaneswar, we want people to sample the digital ecosystem we are building consisting of high speed data networks, specially designed apps and rich content and understand how it can enrich their lives." Twenty-seven access points have been installed across locations, and 1,000 concurrent users can connect to the service at a time, said the release. The users' feedback on the overall experience and network will be used to improve the services further as Jio gets ready for its formal launch. Once 4G LTE service commences, Wi-Fi and LTE networks will operate seamlessly with each other, the statement said.

Sony launches Xperia C5 Ultra smartphone

New Delhi: Japanese electronics giant Sony's India arm on Wednesday launched the Xperia C5 Ultra smartphone priced at Rs.29,990. Sony launches Xperia C5 Ultra smartphone "The new smartphone offers advances in camera, design, battery and performance, further strengthening Sony's product portfolio in the mid-range segment," the company said in a statement. The phone comes with a six-inch border-less display, 13-mega pixel rear and front cameras, a 1.7 GHz 64 bit octa-core processor with 2GB RAM and 4G network support. The font camera also comes with a dual-LED flash unit.

New York: Facebook users would now have the option of a 'donate' button on the pages of all non-profit organisations and linked advertisements on the website, according to a media report. "Every day, people use Facebook to raise awareness and support for causes they care about and to motivate others to do the same”, a Facebook spokesperson said. “We are inspired by how much good comes from these connections, so we have added 'Donate Now' calls-to-action on Pages and link ads to make those connections easier than ever," the spokesperson added. Facebook had rolled out a 'Donate' button in late 2013 with specific partners like the American Cancer Society and The Red Cross. For partnering non-profits, the button was integrated into Pages and the donation took place internally with credit card info that could be stored on the site. However, now when you click the 'Donate Now' button on an NGO's page you are first alerted that the organisation is 'Not endorsed by or affiliated with Facebook' and then are redirected to the page's external site where you can complete the donation. So, without the embedded payment processes, the button is just a call-to-action link.
